New Uptown Apartment Development Near Clark and Leland Nears May Opening
A new residential development in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood is getting close to welcoming its first residents.
Construction on The Anderson, a five-story apartment building at 4713 N. Clark Street, is nearing completion as exterior work wraps up ahead of the building’s planned May 2026 opening.
The project sits on the northeast corner of North Clark Street and West Leland Avenue, replacing a former Byline Bank branch that was demolished more than three years ago.
The Anderson will include 36 apartment units, with rents starting at $2,095 per month, and leasing is expected to begin soon as final construction work continues.
A New Five-Story Apartment Building in Uptown
The Anderson is being developed by Platinum Homes, which is also serving as the project’s general contractor. The building was designed by 360 Design Studio.
The development includes 36 residential units across five floors, offering modern layouts designed for renters looking to live close to Uptown’s entertainment, dining, and transit hubs.
Marketing for the building is being handled by Root Realty, which recently introduced the development’s new name as leasing efforts begin.
Apartment Layouts and Pricing
The Anderson will offer a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.
Current leasing information shows:
One-bedroom units starting at $2,095 per month
Two-bedroom apartments starting at $2,950 per month
The first units are expected to become available beginning May 1, 2026.
Several apartments will also feature outdoor spaces. Some units include inset corner terraces on the west and south sides, while others will have suspended balconies facing east at the rear of the building.
Parking and Building Features
The development includes an 18-space garage located off the alley behind the building, offering parking options for residents who need vehicle storage.
Recent construction activity has focused on completing the brick exterior and garage structure, with overhead garage doors expected to be installed soon as finishing work continues. Balcony installations were also recently completed, marking one of the final exterior construction steps before the building opens.
Convenient Public Transit Access
One of the advantages of The Anderson’s location is its strong access to public transportation.
The Route 22 Clark bus stops directly outside the building at Clark and Leland, offering quick north-south connections across the city. Just one block south at Clark and Wilson, riders can access Route 78 buses, which connect to the Wilson Red and Purple Line CTA station located about half a mile east.
Another nearby option is the Route 9 Ashland bus, which stops roughly two blocks away at Ashland and Wilson. These transit options make it easier for residents to commute throughout Chicago without relying on a car.
A Growing Residential Corridor in Uptown
Uptown has continued to attract new residential development in recent years as the neighborhood grows in popularity among renters looking for walkable streets, entertainment venues, and easy transit access.
The area is known for its historic theaters, diverse dining scene, and proximity to Lake Michigan and the lakefront trail. The Anderson adds another modern housing option along the Clark Street corridor, an area that has seen increasing investment and redevelopment.
With construction nearing completion and leasing expected to begin soon, the building is projected to welcome its first residents in early May 2026.
