A Michelin-Starred Chicago Restaurant Is Turning Into an ’80s Horror Movie for Halloween

WEST LOOP— Halloween night in Fulton Market is about to look like someone pressed play on an old VHS horror movie.

The team behind two-Michelin-starred Ever is hosting A Nightmare on Fulton Street on Saturday, October 31, transforming three connected spaces into an immersive celebration inspired by 1980s horror movies.

Guests will move between After, The B-Side, and The Canvas by Ever, with each space getting its own horror-inspired identity.

The one-night-only event starts at 8 p.m., is restricted to guests 21 and older, and costs $125 per person, plus tax and a 22% service charge. Food and beverages throughout the evening are included.

Three Spaces, Three Different Nightmares

This is not one decorated cocktail bar.

The event spreads across three neighboring venues on Fulton Street, with guests able to move between them throughout the night.

After becomes a red-lit nightmare inspired by the slasher movies that made an entire generation nervous about falling asleep.

The B-Side leans into flickering television screens, static, and the feeling that something may be trying to come through from the other side.

Then The Canvas by Ever becomes a sprawling maze designed around the unsettling question of whether finding your way out will be harder than getting in.

The Canvas by Ever

Time Out describes the overall experience as a combination of retro horror references, music, food, and cocktails across all three spaces.

The Michelin Connection Is Real

The food component is a major reason this Halloween event stands apart from a typical costume party.

The experience comes from the team behind Ever, Chef Curtis Duffy’s acclaimed restaurant next door at 1340 W. Fulton Street.

Ever has held two Michelin stars, with the restaurant itself listing two-star recognition from 2021 through 2025. Michelin continues to feature Ever in its Chicago restaurant guide.

After opened next door in 2022 as the restaurant group’s cocktail bar, while The Canvas by Ever operates as a customizable private event venue in the same Fulton Street complex.

So while the event is designed around horror movies, the food and drink are not an afterthought.

Your ticket includes both throughout the evening.

Why This Is a Very West Loop Halloween

There are plenty of places in Chicago to dress up and dance on Halloween.

This one fits the West Loop particularly well because it combines fine dining, cocktails, design, nightlife, and an immersive experience within one block of Fulton Market.

That mix is a big part of what the neighborhood has become.

Former industrial buildings now sit alongside some of Chicago’s best-known restaurants, luxury apartments, hotels, offices, and nightlife destinations. A regular Saturday evening can already move from dinner to cocktails to a late-night venue without leaving the neighborhood.

On Halloween, the Ever team is simply making that experience much stranger.
