The Cube Is Coming to Chicago—A New Interactive Gaming Experience on the Mag Mile
Chicago is about to get a new kind of entertainment—and it’s not your typical night out.
The Cube, an immersive gaming experience based on the hit UK TV show, is making its U.S. debut in Chicago this summer. The venue will open at 600 N. Michigan Avenue in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, bringing a high-energy, interactive concept to one of the city’s busiest corridors.
What Is The Cube Experience?
Originally popularized by the British TV show The Cube, the concept has been adapted into a real-life experience where participants step inside a glass cube and take on a series of mental and physical challenges.
The Chicago location will span over 25,000 square feet, making it one of the larger interactive entertainment venues in the area.
“Using custom technology, each group of four will face seven specially selected one and two player games, each designed to test their mental and physical abilities,” the press release said. “With spectators observing every move, the pressure is on, and players will need to master their skills of balance, memory, speed and judgement, in an attempt to win points and ultimately, beat The Cube.”
Inside, guests will face seven different games, each designed to test:
Focus and precision
Balance and coordination
Memory and reaction time
Decision-making under pressure
Players compete by earning points or “lives,” advancing through rounds in an effort to beat the cube.
A New Kind of Entertainment for Chicago
The Cube isn’t just a game—it’s part of a growing trend of immersive, experience-driven entertainment that’s becoming more popular in major cities.
Instead of passive entertainment like movies or traditional attractions, these venues focus on interactive participation, making them especially appealing for:
Group outings
Corporate events
Date nights and social experiences
The Mag Mile location positions The Cube alongside other experiential concepts helping to redefine retail and entertainment spaces in Chicago.
What to Expect When It Opens
The venue is expected to feature:
Multiple glass cube challenge rooms
Structured gameplay rounds inspired by the show
A high-energy, competitive environment
Booking options for individuals and groups
While an exact opening date hasn’t been fully detailed, reservations are already open, signaling that the launch is approaching quickly. Check the official website of The Cube for more information.
A Fresh Addition to the Mag Mile
What stands out here is how this fits into a larger shift.
The Magnificent Mile has been actively redefining itself, blending shopping with dining, attractions and now immersive experiences. The Cube adds another layer to that mix, offering something that’s less about browsing and more about participation.
And in a location built on foot traffic and tourism, that kind of energy tends to go a long way.
